If you’re reading this, you must already know that sneakers are all the rage today. Ever since its humble beginnings as practical sports shoes, sneakers are now the ultimate everyday footwear. Even more they are considered to be a form of art by many, and as it is commonly the case with artwork, a lot of sneakers have limited releases. If you want to stay ahead of the competition and be sure to grab a cool new pair, using bots and sneaker proxies is a must. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at the best proxies for sneaker bots and the fundamentals of sneaker copping.

Best Proxies for Sneaker Bots

There’s a ton of things to know before choosing a sneaker proxy provider for your bot, and I discuss them further in the article. However, if you’re already familiar with the process of sneaker copping, we can cut straight to the chase. By the way, in the near future, it’s likely that Chris and I will prepare more full reviews of specifically sneaker proxy providers.

1. Smartproxy

Smartproxy is one of the most popular sneaker proxy providers, and they have a proven track record of reliability. I tested their residential proxies last year which might give you an idea of their general performance.

Smartproxy sneaker proxy features include:

  • Location targeting (195+ countries)
  • Access to full IP pool (rotating proxies)
  • Sticky IP functionality
  • Unlimited threads and connections with all pricing plans
  • Compatibility with all major sneaker bots
  • Provenly fast residential IPs
  • HTTP/HTTPS, IPv4 protocol support
  • 24/7 live chat and email support
  • 3-day money back guarantee

Their pricing starts from $75/month with 5GB of data included and an extra $15 per GB. Although they offer residential proxies for sneaker copping, their general use residential IPs are actually some of the fastest in the market with an average connection speed of 3.5 seconds.

It is also worth mentioning that residential proxies are practically unblockable since they appear as any other regular user to the website.  The risk of being blocked during the release is significant, especially with larger sneaker vendors who have increasingly better protections and that’s why using fast residential proxies is a great alternative to data center proxies. Smartproxy offers precise location targeting, which will also increase your chances of getting those Yeezys.

2. Netnut

Although Netnut does not market their residential proxies as sneaker proxies, they can issue residential IPs optimized for maximum speed and the highest success rate for specific targets. This is something that you don’t see often. They also claim that their IPs are faster than the competition because, according to the website, “the traffic is not routed through end users’ devices, so there is no bottleneck in the traffic flow.” Well, I can’t wait to test this claim. Here’s what they offer:

  • Free 7 day trial
  • Access to full IP pool (rotating proxies)
  • Sticky IP functionality
  • Dedicated account manager
  • IP optimization by target
  • API for statistics
  • Built-in smart IP rotation

Netnut seems to pride themselves on having really fast residential proxies. They largely attribute their speeds to built-in smart IP rotation which means that load balancing servers automatically provide optimal IP addresses for a specific location. This sounds ideal for sneaker copping, but as of yet, it’s hard to tell if they are significantly faster. A dedicated account manager is a big plus too. As for pricing, the cheapest plan costs $300/month with 20GB included and $15 for each extra GB.

3. Geosurf

Geosurf has performed respectably well in our past tests, and their residential proxies are fast, reliable, and offer great features.

  • Location targeting (130 locations)
  • Access to full IP pool (rotating proxies)
  • Unlimited threads and connections with all pricing plans
  • API access
  • Sticky IP functionality
  • 24/7 support (phone, email, Skype)

Much like Netnut, Geosurf sells sneaker proxies at a steeper price, with the cheapest plan starting from $300/month. This plan includes 20GB, and an extra GB will cost you $15. However, the value you get is a lot lower, because this cheapest option doesn’t include phone and Skype support (email only), and there’s no money back guarantee. It is disappointing considering the price.

How Does Sneaker Copping Work?

Sneaker copping refers to the use of automated software to buy a pair of brand new sneakers immediately after they’re released on the vendors’ website. I have used this software both for research and well, to make sure that the sneakers I’ve set my eyes on actually become MINE.

There are two main components you’ll need to get your favorite kicks. The first one is a sneaker bot that will navigate through the purchase page faster than humanly possible. But if you want to increase your chances of making the purchase or if you want to buy more pairs, you’ll also need to use a proxy service with multiple accounts.

Sneaker sites usually limit sales to one pair per account, and they can easily detect it if you’re using the same IP address with multiple accounts. To avoid detection, using a proxy service is inevitable. I will expand more on this later.

Why Use Sneaker Bots?

People use sneaker bots and proxies for a few reasons:

  1. The hottest releases are very limited. These days, a lot of sneakers are sold out in a matter of minutes, so if you really want to get your kicks, it is essential to get ahead of the game.

  2. After the initial sale, the sneakers are usually resold in a secondary market for a much higher price. This means that the original release is your best chance of getting the shoes at an affordable price.

  3. Sneaker vendors or manufacturers usually limit the sale to one pair per account/IP address. Want a chance at buying more? Use a VPS, multiple shipping addresses, credit cards, bots and proxies.

  4. Generally, when most others are doing it, using automated software simply becomes the new norm.

What Bots Should You Use?

Sneaker bots are software programs designed specifically to help you get a pair of your dream kicks with as little hassle as possible. These bots vary in terms of their features, versatility, usability, speed and perhaps most importantly success rate.

When looking for a sneaker copping bot, there are quite a few things to consider. First, you should know that some bots are more versatile, allowing you to use them with a large variety of brands and vendors, while others are optimized to work with specific brands or cop sites only. So your choice will largely depend on which brand sneakers you want and how much flexibility you need.

Here are some main features that I believe the best bots should have:

  • Auto retry (in case the site starts crashing)
  • Automated regular updates
  • Good customer support (a Discord channel is a plus)
  • reCAPTCHA solvers
  • Multiple account support
  • Multithreading (ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously)
  • Restock monitoring (also called Restock Scanner or Restock Mode)

A general rule of thumb: if you’re a small-time sneakerhead who just wants to get a pair or two for themselves, go for a simpler bot with flexible pricing. All-in-one bots are generally pricier and are created with heavy-duty users in mind. However, if budget is not an issue and you’d just like a quick recommendation, the AIO bot is generally considered to be the best in the game by many reviewers, myself included. It currently supports over 74 retail websites which makes it the most versatile bot in the market.

Since there’s too much variation between the bots and their features for me to be able to discuss it all briefly and this guide is after all geared towards sneaker proxies, I highly recommend checking out this in-depth review of top sneaker bots that covers most of everything you should know.

Things to Look for When Choosing Sneaker Proxies

Sneaker proxies differ from most other proxy types because they have to be exceptionally reliable. The worst thing that could happen while trying to run your bot is for your proxy to become unresponsive or too slow. This would result in you missing out on the hyped release. Other factors are as following:

IP type: residential or data center sneaker proxies?

This may sound controversial, but at this point, I recommend using residential proxies. Sure, data center proxies are faster, and you can get virgin IPs. Despite this, the last part is not that relevant when comparing DC proxies with residential. Although residential IPs are shared proxies, they still look like legitimate IP addresses to the website.

Residential proxies have the upper hand because they’re essentially impossible to block. To the website in question, they look just like an IP address of a regular user. Meanwhile, dedicated data center proxies are easier to spot by bot detection systems because they have no prior usage history and immediately bring up red flags.

Furthermore, it’s simple for web admins just to block the entire subnet which means that you will lose all of your proxies in that range. In contrast, residential proxies don’t belong to subnets and rotation furthermore increases your chances of success. Although it all boils down to speed vs. security, I would personally choose residential proxies because it is becoming easier for web admins to spot data center IPs with each passing day.

Location and latency

Make sure that the proxies you buy are located in the same country as the vendors’ website or at least not halfway across the world. This is important because closer proximity to the servers means reduced latency and thus bigger chances of successful copping. Otherwise, you risk that your proxies will work too slow and it may also alert the website of something suspicious going on. Generally, US proxies are considered to be a safe choice.

Number of proxies

If you’re not purchasing rotating residential proxies and instead choose a fixed amount of IP addresses, I recommend getting at least 25 proxies to cop sneakers. This will allow the bot to switch proxies and increase your chances of success. And if you buy a small amount of proxies, especially data center proxies, your chances of getting blocked increase significantly.

Why Use Sneaker Proxies?

The answer to this question is pretty straightforward. Although you could use sneaker bots without proxies, doing this would drastically reduce your chances of a successful purchase. It is very likely that the sneaker site will simply ban your unique IP address after recognizing that you’re using a bot. To ensure anonymity and increase your chances of success, using proxies is a must.

If you’re planning to run a single account on a single thread on a cop site, using a proxy wouldn’t be necessary. However, this is almost the same as not using a bot altogether. Only with sneaker proxies will you be able to unleash the true power of your bot.

Sneaker proxies are especially important if you want to cop more than a single pair on a hyped release (think Supreme, Nike, Jordan, Adidas Yeezy or NMDs) and this is due to the fact that these releases are limited to one pair per user.

How to Use Sneaker Proxies?

Each bot has a different setup to connect it with your proxies. It’s usually a simple process that will take you a few minutes at most. If you want to just take a sneak peak at how it’s done before starting your own adventure, I recommend checking out these tutorials by Smartproxy.
