Smartproxy Acquires SERPMaster

The Google scraping API service will bolster Smartproxy’s data collection infrastructure.

Smartproxy, the international provider of proxies and web scraping tools, has announced its acquisition of SERPMaster, a Google scraping API.

According to Smartproxy’s head of product Germanas Latvaitis, the new acquisition will help the company scale its data collection infrastructure:

Smartproxy has always been customer-obsessed. We see a clear trend that proxies are no longer enough – businesses need complete datasets and ready-made big data gathering tools that could be easily integrated into their existing tech infrastructure. SERPMaster will help us scale our infrastructure and deliver better data services for our users.

SERPMaster was bought together with its user base. The service’s current clients will experience no significant changes. But it’s unclear whether it will remain as a separate brand.

SERPMaster is Smartproxy’s first big acquisition. With it, the provider continues the streak of recent purchases made by major proxy providers. The news also shows that Smartproxy is serious about expanding its services to become a full-fledged web data platform – which seems to be the prevailing trend of 2022.

Unfortunately, for users of the SERPMaster API service there are wholesale changes which will require changes to any code base that uses the API.
