Smartproxy Publishes an E-Commerce Maturity Index

The report investigates 120 stores across 40 countries.

Smartproxy, the international provider of proxies and web scraping infrastructure, has released an e-commerce maturity index. 

The report compares the user experience of e-commerce stores across 40 countries in five continents. In particular, it considers the following areas:

  1. Browsing – the ease of finding products.
  2. Reviewing – the ability to learn about a product, compare it with others, and find reviews.
  3. Investigating – the background information on products.
  4. Expanding – additional services, financing options, and bundle deals.
  5. Decisions – the ability to select various delivery options, set alerts, and get information about return policies.


Smartproxy rates and categorizes the countries by their level of maturity and strongest points. 

The report also includes a dynamic pricing index, which shows how widely e-commerce websites adopt variable pricing strategies. 

This evaluation is based on more than 245,000 data points drawn by continuously monitoring 12 products on each of 120 e-commerce stores (three per country).
